Join a team of direct support professionals who work with a considerate, resourceful wheelchair-using man with a budding talent for photography and political activism. Primary duties include a full range of personal care assistance. - Physical assistance (must be able to lift 50 lbs, aid client in moving/adjusting body position in his bed or power chair, and provide general assistance with mobility as needed) - Facilitate personal care routines (washing/bathing, changing/bathroom needs, nightly catheter, feeding, brushing teeth, etc.) - Administer medication (with morning and evening meals) - Household routines (meal preparation, dishes, laundry, general household tasks) - Utilize medical equipment (client uses hoyer lift to get in and out of bed and into his power chair, other medical equipment used as needed) - Community inclusion (transport client to activities, appointments, meetings, etc. Must have a driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
