This is an events based gig, meaning hours become available whenever events get booked. Most events are 4-6 hours of total work time (load in/set-up/service time/breakdown/load out), and are usually really fun events with nice clients; this is not your typical coffee shop barista gig. This is a great position for a current barista at a specialty coffee shop looking to supplement their income. Must Haves (**absolutely necessary**) --- Barista experience with Specialty Coffee & Equipment, strong milk steaming & latte art skills (would love to see pictures), know how to properly & evenly tamp espresso, understand how to dial-in a grinder & understand basic espresso parameters, know how to maintain a clean & organized bar, outstanding customer service and conversational skills, super duper punctual, consistently reliable, well groomed and well dressed, can lift 60+lbs unassisted, fully vaccinated and understand the importance of health & safety Nice to Haves --- technical espresso machine knowledge (how to read steam pressure and group- head pressure gauges), general electrical knowledge of outlets: difference between 15 amp and 20 amp outlets and how to identify them, general conversational knowledge of 3rd wave specialty coffee roasters and espresso equipment, current Food Handlers Certificate Bonus points --- for sending us pictures of your latte art, if you are currently working at a specialty coffee shop, if you live in West LA, and have solid photography skills ***Please do not reply unless you meet all requirements of the Must Have’s sections, including being fully vaccinated (we will ask for proof). We will be screening and conducting interviews within the next 2 weeks where we will chat and you can make a couple drinks for us.
