Advanced Studio Photographer | $30/hr | 20–40 Hrs/Week

Hi! We’re Hello Dancer Photography, a fast-growing dance photography company working with 100+ studios throughout Utah.

We’re growing our core photography team and looking for experienced studio photographers who really know lighting.

This is not an entry-level photography position.

You should already be confident with manual camera operation, off-camera flash/strobes, modifiers and building studio lighting setups independently.

We provide the equipment. You bring the expertise.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Photograph dancers in studio + on-location environments
Work with everything from clean, high-volume portrait setups to creative lighting concepts
Photograph individuals, groups + movement
Work quickly while maintaining consistent technical quality
Follow Hello Dancer lighting, posing + production standards
Collaborate with photographers, stylists + event crew

No editing. No client acquisition. No personal photography equipment required.

SCHEDULE

This is consistent year-round photography work, starting at approximately 20–40 hours/week now.

Most shoots take place Monday–Saturday in the afternoons and evenings, so strong afternoon/evening availability is important.

March–May is our peak season, with consistent full-time hours. Hours vary more throughout the rest of the year based on our shoot schedule.

Some months, much of our work takes place at our studio in Millcreek. Other months involve frequent travel to dance studios and locations, typically within about one hour of Salt Lake City.

For photographers who are a great long-term fit, there is potential for a consistent full-time, year-round position beginning July 2027 as Hello Dancer continues to grow.

YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW HOW TO:

Shoot confidently in full manual
Independently set up + adjust studio strobes/off-camera flash
Work with multiple lights + modifiers
Troubleshoot exposure, focus + lighting issues
Recreate lighting from a reference
Photograph people confidently
Produce clean, technically consistent images

We’ll teach you our equipment, lighting systems, posing, workflow and production standards.

We are not teaching photography fundamentals.
