The University Shop Assistant provides technical support to the Photography Emphasis Area in the Department of Art, Design, & Visual Studies by maintaining the safety, function, organization, inventory, and cleanliness of the facilities and equipment. The position will be responsible for managing our darkroom and film lab, ensuring that all photochemistry is mixed and maintained to the highest standards. Equipment Management : • Oversee the checkout and return of photography and AV equipment in the entire Department of Art, Design, and Visual Studies, ensuring all items are in good working condition. * Maintains computerized inventory system; prepares computerized inventory and work order reports; • determines proper floor and shelf location for supplies; insures hazardous materials are stored and safely disposed; performs and reconciles physical inventory of supply warehouse; • insures that Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) records are current for all products used; verifies quantity and quality of orders; Nestled along the Boise River and steps from the state capitol, Boise State University fosters a vibrant and welcoming academic environment that fuels student and employee success.
