About the Role

We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Freelance Camera Service Technician & Photographer to join our team in evaluating, servicing, testing, and photographing high-end cinema equipment.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for the mechanical, optical, and operational integrity of professional camera packages before they hit our store and client sets. If you know cinema camera platforms inside and out, take pride in meticulous gear maintenance, and have a sharp eye for presentation, this role offers an ideal environment with high-grade gear.

Key Responsibilities

Gear Inspection & Testing: Thoroughly bench-test, evaluate, clean, and verify hardware and firmware functionality across digital cinema camera systems and lenses.Maintenance & Minor Repairs: Troubleshoot, service, and perform minor mechanical/electronic repairs or maintenance on cameras, lens mounts, media, and production accessories.Product Photography: Photograph camera bodies, lens sets, and accessories for e-commerce listings, ensuring studio-quality lighting and accurate detail shots.Quality Control & Prep: Ensure all gear packages are complete, fully prepped, and meet factory/industry operational standards prior to client delivery or shipment.Candidate QualificationsRequired Experience & Technical Skills

Industry Experience: Direct experience working in a camera repair facility, camera rental house, or professional camera sales company.Camera Ecosystem Expertise: Hands-on operational and technical knowledge testing, diagnosing, and servicing ARRI (Alexa Mini, AMIRA, LF), RED (V-Raptor, Komodo, DSMC2), and Sony (FX6/FX9, Venice) camera lines.Technical Aptitude: Deep understanding of lens mounts, sensor cleaning, back focus inspection, media formats, standard camera power configurations, and firmware management.Attention to Detail: Methodical, process-driven approach to testing gear and documenting cosmetic/functional conditions.Bonus Skills & Qualifications

Product & Gear Photography: Experience in studio lighting, macro photography, and photo editing for high-end B2B/e-commerce listings.Fulfillment Logistics: Familiarity with professional gear packing, shipping procedures, and freight handling for fragile optics/cinema bodies.Social Media & Content Creation: Ability to shoot short-form demo videos or product highlight clips for social channels.Sales & Client Relations: Background in retail sales, client gear walk-throughs, or consultative sales outreach.Organization: Experience organizing inventory systems, tracking serial numbers, and maintaining structured shop operations.Schedule & Location
