Camera Technician and Photographer

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00 / hour (DOE) In this role, you will be directly responsible for the mechanical, optical, and operational integrity of professional camera packages before they hit our store and client sets. Gear Inspection & Testing: Thoroughly bench-test, evaluate, clean, and verify hardware and firmware functionality across digital cinema camera systems and lenses.Maintenance & Minor Repairs: Troubleshoot, service, and perform minor mechanical/electronic repairs or maintenance on cameras, lens mounts, media, and production accessories.Product Photography: Photograph camera bodies, lens sets, and accessories for e-commerce listings, ensuring studio-quality lighting and accurate detail shots.Quality Control & Prep: Ensure all gear packages are complete, fully prepped, and meet factory/industry operational standards prior to client delivery or shipment.Candidate QualificationsRequired Experience & Technical Skills Industry Experience: Direct experience working in a camera repair facility, camera rental house, or professional camera sales company.Camera Ecosystem Expertise: Hands-on operational and technical knowledge testing, diagnosing, and servicing ARRI (Alexa Mini, AMIRA, LF), RED (V-Raptor, Komodo, DSMC2), and Sony (FX6/FX9, Venice) camera lines.Technical Aptitude: Deep understanding of lens mounts, sensor cleaning, back focus inspection, media formats, standard camera power configurations, and firmware management.Attention to Detail: Methodical, process-driven approach to testing gear and documenting cosmetic/functional conditions.Bonus Skills & Qualifications Work Environment: On-site shop environment in the Hollywood Hills (Los Angeles, CA).Schedule: Flexible freelance hours/days based on incoming gear volume and inventory turnover.How to Apply
