Chief Photography Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Photographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior management experience, previous newsroom experience, and excellent managerial skills. They must also be able to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment and work efficiently on ENG trucks and all news gathering equipment. Responsibilities: • Train and mentor a team of video journalists • Evaluate and develop skills within the team • Manage news gathering equipment and fleet of vehicles • Shoot and edit VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for broadcast air and online postings • Maintain a high standard of quality among the best in the market • Collaborate with the Assignment Desk and work with Reporters to cover daily stories • Gather video and still pictures to enhance coverage on digital platforms • Work with reporters and producers to ensure accurate content and facts are gathered • Coordinate incoming video elements from crews in the field • Plan quarterly photographer meetings that include training workshops for development • Oversee video library and support archive digitization • Publish content to online platforms Requirements: • Prior management experience • Previous newsroom experience required • Excellent managerial skills • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment • Efficient operation on ENG trucks and all news gathering equipment • Ability to work in various weather conditions • Valid driver's license and near-perfect driving record • Digital editing tools proficiency, including Adobe editing software • Organizational and multi-tasking skills • Related military experience considered • In-person attendance required
