Communications and Outreach Specialist

Provide Communications and Outreach services for a non-profit organization focused on wildland fire safety in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The Specialist will provide services as an independent contractor, responsible for updated, modernized website design, content development and ongoing management of content for the website, social media, newsletters and local newspapers. ), local media outreach, as well as website and social media platforms, that are relevant and useful to the stakeholders and counties’ residents. • Experience with graphic design or layout • Experience designing and publishing articles, social media posts and other notices • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Excellent organization skills, including ability to set priorities, manage time, work under pressure, and assist with multiple projects while meeting deadlines • Appreciation for the diversity of Alameda and Contra Costa County’s local communities and general knowledge of wildfire prevention opportunities and challenges in California DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Degree from an accredited college or university in communications, education, marketing, natural resources management, environmental policy and planning, sustainable agriculture, or a related field.
