Company Description Whatzfit Studios is a forward-thinking hybrid creative production agency based in the Minneapolis area, operating at the intersection of traditional filmmaking and emerging technologies. The studio produces high-end commercial work and end-to-end traditional media while integrating advanced generative AI to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. We work on brands, commercial campaigns, digital platforms, and films to craft compelling, innovative content. Through its generative AI department, U’RE AI, Whatzfit Studios also trains creatives to use AI as a collaborative storytelling partner, helping them stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.
Role Description The Contract Photographer is a project to project on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN, responsible for capturing high-quality imagery for commercial campaigns, branded content, and studio projects.
Project work includes executing photo shoots, collaborating with directors, producers, and creative teams, and setting up lighting, composition, and camera equipment to achieve the desired visual style. The role involves understanding creative briefs and ensuring all images align with project goals and brand guidelines.
The photographer will manage file organization and delivery of assets, while working closely with our content team to support integrated visual storytelling.
Qualifications
This position is open to all experience levels.Strong skills in professional photography, including composition, lighting, and camera operation for studio and location shoots.Experience with photo editing and post-processing workflows using tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.Ability to collaborate with creative directors, producers, and other crew members to interpret briefs and translate concepts into visual narratives.Comfort working on commercial sets, with knowledge of set etiquette, time management, and coordination across multiple projects.Familiarity with emerging creative technologies and interest in integrating photography with generative AI and digital media workflows.Strong organizational skills for managing assets, file naming, and delivery, with attention to detail and quality control.Ability to work on-site full time in Minneapolis, MN, including occasional evenings or weekends based on production schedules.Relevant professional experience in commercial, branded content, or film-related photography; a portfolio demonstrating work in these areas is required.Formal training in photography, film, visual arts, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
