Experienced Graphic/ Digital Designer

We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated Digital Designer to manage and develop Rough Linen’s website. They would be responsible for the visual design of Rough Linen's online presence including the website, emails, blog, online marketing and any printed materials (packaging, print ads, corporate collateral, etc). They should be able to communicate effectively in order to understand the criteria of a project and deliver a carefully crafted design. Responsibilities • Communicate with project managers to establish goals, outcomes and timelines for deliverables • Create strong visual designs based on given criteria • Evaluate and adapt designs based on feedback provided • Understand characteristics of target audience and find effective ways to reach them • Producing attractive, effective and revenue-driving designs for the website, emails, online campaigns, printed materials and more • Collaborate closely with leadership & marketing teams to ensure stories and seasonal campaigns are told in a cohesive, on-brand way through brand visuals, focusing on photography needs and overall visual presentation • Continue to refine and hone in on the Rough Linen brand aesthetic through graphic design, photography and online UX (user experience) • Elevate packaging and collateral materials with cohesive design that clearly communicates our brand aesthetic and values • Organizing and archiving photography and graphic assets • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas • Assist with photo shoot concept, coordination, logistics and production Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Design, or a combination of college education and related work experience • 3+ years of UX/product design experience across digital channels (web, mobile web, app) in the digital consumer space, with a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design • Strong portfolio of relevant work demonstrating an ability to produce on- brand creative • Proficient in Adobe Creative suite and Photoshop • Strong creative, design and multitasking skills • Detail oriented • Demonstrated ability to create effective designs • Experience working with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify • Experience designing and coding emails and working with an email platform to send regular emails to a subscriber list • Experience with blogging and social media platforms • A strong understanding of and talent for telling a story through photography, typography, layout and graphic design • Positive attitude, flexibility with regards to job responsibilities and ability to not become frustrated with last minute changes • Ability to multi-task and the desire to work in a fast paced environment with quick turn-around times • Self motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset • Understanding and eye for the Rough Linen aesthetic, feel and design, and ability to translate this into all aspects of the customer's visual experience with the brand • Confidence and desire to bring new ideas to the table in a convincing and positive manner, and to communicate clearly and openly with senior-level team members • Ability to manage projects and timelines with little or no supervision • Ability to clearly present your work and advocate design rationale.
