Role Description: The Experienced Photographer/2nd Shooter contract position is a part-time, on-location role requiring travel up to 50 mile radius of Atlanta, GA to provide professional photography services for the expanding client base of newNsight Photography.

Job Overview

Join our dynamic photography team as an experienced 2nd Shooter! In this energetic and vital role, you will collaborate closely with the lead photographer to capture stunning images at a variety of events, including corporate functions, weddings, special occasions and portrait sessions. Your enthusiasm for visual storytelling, combined with technical expertise in photography will help us deliver exceptional moments that clients cherish forever. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity for you to grow your skills with free photography consultation and training while providing opportunities for you to supplement your income while contributing to memorable experiences.

Day-to-day tasks include capturing high-quality images, assisting with lighting and equipment setup, backing up files, and maintaining an organized workflow throughout each shoot. The role involves collaborating with the lead photographer on shot lists, adapting to changing conditions during events, and ensuring consistent visual style and brand standards. Responsibilities also include basic post-processing, communicating with clients and team members in a professional manner, and helping with studio organization and gear maintenance. This position is ideal for a photographer who is confident behind the camera, comfortable taking direction, and eager to grow within a creative team.

Qualifications

Strong technical photography skills, including proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and on-location shooting.Experience as a second shooter or assistant photographer at events, weddings, conventions, or studio sessions, with the ability to follow and enhance a lead photographer’s vision.Proficiency with photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop) and basic post-processing workflows, including file organization and backups.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to take direction, respond to feedback, and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.Strong time-management and organizational skills, including reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work in fast-paced, high-energy environments.Ability to work on-site in Atlanta, GA, including evenings and weekends as required by event scheduling; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.Prior professional photography experience and a portfolio demonstrating event, portrait, or creative work; formal training or relevant education in photography or visual arts is a plus.
