Forensic Photographer

The Mission of the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is to provide medical examiner and crime laboratory services of the highest quality in an unbiased manner with uncompromised integrity. Brief Position Overview... Duties & Responsibilities: • Produces postmortem examination photographs using professional digital cameras to document pertinent findings as determined by the forensic pathologists • Logs and archives each photograph acquired at death scenes and during postmortem examinations by case number to ensure that all images are properly stored and secured • Maintains an archive of supplemental digital files related to cases including radiographs, video, and images from other agencies • Produces copies of digital photographs for pathologists and approved outside agencies upon appropriate request • Assists other staff with digital camera troubleshooting and quality improvements; assists in the maintenance and repair of cameras and accessories • Provides photographic coverage of agency events as assigned • Other duties as assigned You may attach a resume to the application as supporting documentation but ONLY information stated on the application will be used for consideration. Experience: • Two (2) years of professional photography experience • Photography experience in a hospital, morgue, law enforcement agency, crime lab, medical examiner’s office, or related setting
