Role Description
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Gallery Coordinator to join our time at a portrait company representing a curated group of the world's leading portrait artists. This is a full-time, on-site Gallery Coordinator role based in Birmingham, AL. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the arts. This role offers hands-on experience working directly with professional artists, marketing initiatives, and the day-to-day operations of a growing fine art business. Through a variety of responsibilities, you will gain meaningful exposure to both the creative and business sides of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Artist Communications: Work directly with our international roster of artists to gather updates, images, and other materials, helping to ensure their work is presented at the highest level. Marketing Support: With our Marketing Director, assist in planning and scheduling social media content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn; engage with our audience and help track performance. Website Updates: Maintain and update artist biographies, artwork, and event listings through our content management system. Marketing & Portfolio Materials: Prepare digital and printed materials that support client presentations and artist promotion. Gallery Support: Assist with the organization and presentation of the physical artwork and other materials within the gallery space and lend support to staff on key projects.
Qualifications
An interest in fine arts, marketing, or communications Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in social media platforms and a basic understanding of analytics Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
