Graphic Designer for magazine page layout

Confidential Santa Barbara, California

And, since the magazine is a bi-monthly, and requires a total of between 35 and 40 hours to complete this assignment, you must have a solid week to dedicate to the project every other month. While, it is perfectly acceptable to have other clients during this time, we do require that SLO LIFE Magazine be your first priority when these production weeks arrive. It is also possible, in fact it is strongly preferred, to work with someone who is available and willing to take on small parts of the project leading up to production week in order to lessen the total number of hours required during that time. However, the photography which accompanies the articles almost always requires some time for review and selection (you will have broad discretion in this area) as well as some prep work in Photoshop before it is ready to be placed in the layout (note - we are very careful to not "over Photoshop" our images, as we are always seeking to be real and raw and an accurate reflection of the community we serve). While most of the advertisements will be sent to you camera-ready, we do consistently have about a half-dozen advertisers that require minor updating each issue (generally, this means swapping out some text or a photo) and makes up a small portion of the assignment (approximately 2 to 3 hours).
