Graphic Designer / Marketing Assistant

The Graphic Designer / Marketing Assistant will assist the Director of operations and the owner in the development of traditional and online images and content marketing programs and materials that support the sales efforts . The person in this role should exhibit excellent writing and content organization skills, a strong general Graphics Background and knowledge of online marketing, and a solid working knowledge of social media for business purposes, retail experience is desired. * Become the "master" of our marketing content by studying existing materials * Work with web programmer to optimize the website to achieve a consistent "page 1" presence at major search engines * Maintain presence/visibility at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and education-specific social media sites and blogs * Strong written communication skills applicable to creation of collateral material and writing articles, press releases, social media posts, emails, and website content * Excellent content organization and adaptation skills * Knowledge of online marketing techniques including email marketing, search engine optimization, social media, and link building * Ability to work in collaborative team environment * A self-directed individual who knows what needs to be done and operates with urgency, focus and discipline * Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities * industry experience highly preferred * Undergraduate Business/Marketing degree OR Graphic Designer degree and 2+ years work experience in the field online merchandising
