Graphic Designer with Newspaper/Publication Skills

Part-time contract, with possible full-time option. Qualified candidates should be creative, collaborative and deadline-oriented. Candidate will: * Create graphics for print, web and social media * Conceptualize and create ads, graphics and other design elements for a weekly newspaper, logos and branding, infographics and marketing materials * Design and assist in planning yearly publications. Maintain regular backups and archives of design files. Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related degree • 1-3 years of relevant experience with newspaper, magazine, catalog or other publishing • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Reader) • Strong eye for design and an understanding of typography, photography and illustration • Web skills and HTML knowledge are a plus • Must include portfolio of past work to be considered
