INTERIOR DESIGN ASSISTANT

Maurice Gadson Interiors is a boutique interior design firm, focusing on high- end residential spaces in Los Angeles. We are actively seeking a design assistant who is passionate, creative, driven, and extremely organized. We have a number of exciting new projects and need to grow our team ASAP! Typical Responsibilities: • Assisting with site measurements • Preparing mood boards, design boards, and deliverables for client presentations • Furnishing specification • CAD drafting (floor plans, elevations, RCP's, etc.) • Taking notes during client meetings for follow-up action items • Expediting and tracking furniture orders for multiple projects • Requesting quotes and lead times with vendors, fabricators, and showrooms • Running general project errands • Inspecting incoming orders and organizing and returning products/samples • Collaborating with Principals on social media posts • Assisting on installation days and photography shoots Typical Qualifications: • Minimum of 2+ years of experience • Knowledge of trade resources and vendors • Proficient in AutoCAD • Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other 3D/rendering skills a plus but not required • Own a reliable computer and AutoCAD (other design programs a plus but not required) • Strong design and presentation skills • Reliable car and valid driver’s license • Must live in or near Los Angeles to accommodate project sites and local vendors • During Covid-19, most work will be remote The Ideal Candidate: • Is resourceful, trustworthy, and takes pride in their work • Adapts to situations in flux, troubleshoots problems, and meets deadlines • Knows how to enjoy hard work and loves loves loves design!!
