Interior Design Assistant

Maurice Gadson Interiors is a boutique interior design firm, focusing on high- end residential spaces in Los Angeles. We are actively seeking a design assistant who is passionate, creative, driven, and extremely organized. We have a number of exciting new projects and need to grow our team ASAP! Typical Responsibilities: •Assisting with site measurements •Preparing mood boards, design boards, and deliverables for client presentations •Sourcing of furnishings •CAD drafting (floor plans, elevations, RCP, etc.) •Taking notes during client meetings for follow-up action items •Expediting and tracking furniture orders for multiple projects •Requesting quotes and lead times with vendors, fabricators, and showrooms •Running general project errands •Inspecting incoming orders and organizing and returning product samples •Assisting on installation days and photography shoots Typical Qualifications: •Minimum of 2+ years interior design experience •Knowledge of trade resources and vendors •Proficient in AutoCAD •Own a reliable computer •Strong design, communication, and presentation skills •Reliable car and valid driver's license •Must live in or near Los Angeles to accommodate project sites and local vendors •Will work both in office and throughout Los Angeles visiting vendors and client sites •Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other 3D/rendering skills a plus but not required •Owning AutoCAD or other design programs a plus but not required The Ideal Candidate: •Is resourceful, trustworthy, and takes pride in their work •Adapts to situations in flux, troubleshoots problems, and meets deadlines •Knows how to enjoy hard work and loves loves loves design!!!
