Kid's Equipment Room Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The New York Film Academy NY Kids Summer Program is looking for an organized, skilled, and efficient seasonal Equipment Manager for the Kids Summer Camps. Develop and implement standard operating process for equipment check-outs for shoot days Determine equipment needs for classrooms and ensure classes are prepped on a daily basis Catalog equipment and maintain inventory for the duration of the summer camp program Ensure equipment is in working condition and process replacement requests, when needed Create and maintain effective channels of communication with the Kids Office, Kids Edit Lab, and Main Equipment Room Maintain various logistics necessary to ensure the smooth running of production Assist TA Coordinator with an onboarding process for newly hired TAs, including training, orientation, uniform distribution, etc Establish & oversee execution of safety protocols and shooting guidelines to ensure an effective production environment that guarantees quality deliverables for campers Assist with the build out before the program begins Assist with the breakdown after the program ends Support the Kids Office with facilities and operations needs on a needs basis Supervise camper production crews on location shoots and offer technical assistance to campers to ensure their proper and safe use of equipment Provide hands-on assistance in a classroom setting An ability to support Hands On Camera classes with instruction or assisting should it be necessary Other duties as assigned by Kids Camp Director, Assistant Director, or senior management KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES: Strong technical grasp of digital cinematography and of basic light set-up, including 3-point lighting, basic power distribution, light control with gels, etc Strong technical grasp of film equipment such as HMC, 5D Mark II, shotgun mics, tripods, onboard shock mounts, c-stands, boom poles, etc Ability to work hard, respond to emergencies, and always maintain the safety and educational environment for the students Understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi- step written and oral instructions Perform basic math Ability to work independently with minimal supervision A working grasp of Adobe Premiere is a plus Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds including camper, faculty and staff Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION: High School/GED required Film/Video Production Experience Experience providing technical support on film shoots and/or art events required. Prior Equipment Room Experience is preferred Experience working in a fast paced multitasking result driven environment Attention to detail and team member mentality Intermediate proficiency Microsoft Office Suites and GSuite Experience and comfortability with students ages 10-13 REPRESENTATIVE MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND/OR SOFTWARE USED: The following machines, tools, equipment and / or software are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position.
