Lead Associate Photographer

Sweet Ginger Photography is hiring Lead Associate Photographers!

I’m looking to add a couple of experienced photographers to my team for weddings and family sessions as Sweet Ginger continues to grow.

I’m looking for people who care about the experience just as much as the photos. You should be comfortable taking the lead, helping people feel at ease, experienced in posing and prompted photography and creating beautiful images while keeping things relaxed and organized.

About the role

This is contracted, assignment-based work paying $60–$125 per hour, depending on the assignment. Bookings typically fall Thursday–Sunday, with opportunities offered based on availability and fit. Weekly hours are not guaranteed. We will present a job and you can either accept or deny your availability.

You’ll photograph weddings and family sessions under the Sweet Ginger Photography brand, and I’ll handle the editing and final gallery delivery.

Responsibilities include:

Confidently leading wedding coverage and family sessions independently.
Giving clear, natural posing direction while capturing genuine connections and candid moments.
Being patient and engaging with children and helping families feel comfortable.
For weddings, participating in pre-wedding emails, video calls and photographing engagement sessions as assigned.
Reviewing timelines and session details, arriving early and prepared, and communicating reliably.
Keeping wedding coverage on track, organizing family portraits, and working professionally with vendors while representing the Sweet Ginger Photography brand.
Safely backing up images and delivering RAW files to me within 24–48 hours.
Giving Sweet Ginger clients the same attention and care you would give your own.

You’d be a great fit if you:

Have experience leading weddings and photographing families, with a consistent portfolio to share.
Can adapt to changing light, busy timelines, unpredictable weather, and kids who have their own plans.
Bring a warm, confident presence and know when to give direction and when to let a moment unfold.
Are dependable, responsive, and comfortable representing an established photography brand.
Enjoy a natural photography approach that combines guided portraits with candid storytelling.

Commitment matters. Wedding dates may be booked up to 18 months in advance. Once you accept an assignment, those clients are counting on you. Accepted dates cannot be dropped for another booking; illness and emergencies are handled separately.

I’m hoping to build ongoing relationships with photographers I trust and enjoy working with, opportunities for second shooting is also an option. I am looking for people who will help every Sweet Ginger client feel comfortable, supported, and cared for.
