Media & Photography - Summer Camp

Long Lake Camp Adventures New York, New York

URGENT HIRE!!! MEDIA & SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST – SUMMER 2026

Do you love photography, videography, storytelling, working with kids, and capturing unforgettable moments all summer long?

Long Lake Camp Adventures is searching for a creative and energetic Media & Social Media Specialist to join our staff for Summer 2026 in the stunning Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York.

This is a unique opportunity to spend your summer behind the camera, telling the story of camp, building our social media presence, living in a beautiful place, and becoming part of an adventurous and incredibly close camp community.

ABOUT LONG LAKE CAMP ADVENTURES

Long Lake Camp Adventures is an overnight summer camp for campers ages 7–16 focused on creativity, adventure, and choice. Every camper builds their own daily schedule from a huge variety of activities including parkour, high ropes, climbing, paintball, skateboarding, automotive, woodworking, hiking, waterfront activities, sports, gardening, and much more.

No two days are the same at Long Lake, which means there's always something incredible to capture.

ABOUT THE MEDIA ROLE

Our media program is the window through which the whole world sees Long Lake. From ATVs tearing down trails to campers landing their first wakeboard run, your job is to capture the energy, adventure, and joy that make this place special, and share it with families and future campers.

We are looking for someone who can shoot high-quality photos and video, edit compelling content, and keep our social media active, engaging, and full of life all summer long.

Your work may include:

Photographing and filming daily activities across camp
Capturing candid moments, friendships, and camper milestones
Creating short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
Producing longer highlight videos and session recap "diaries"
Editing photos and video to a polished, professional standard
Posting and scheduling content across all platforms
Uploading photos to our parent portal so families can see their kids
Organizing and maintaining a clean library of all media
Helping tell the ongoing story of camp all summer long

YOUR ROLE

This is NOT a job where you sit behind a desk all day.

Part of your day will be spent out in the field shooting, editing, and posting. The other part will be spent working with campers alongside your co-counselors.

You will:

Shoot, edit, and post photo and video content daily
Manage and grow our social media presence
Capture every activity and area of camp regularly
Maintain a positive, safe, and encouraging environment
Live in a cabin with campers
Escort campers to meals and activities
Participate in evening programs and trips
Help create an exciting and supportive camp environment

At Long Lake, staff often cross-train in different areas. Depending on your interests and skills, you may also receive training in:

High ropes
Climbing wall
Waterfront activities
CPR and wilderness safety
Other adventure programming

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who:

Has real photography and videography experience
Is skilled in photo and video editing (Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, CapCut, or similar)
Understands social media and what makes content engaging
Can work quickly and stay organized with large amounts of media
Loves working with kids
Brings high energy and positivity
Is adaptable and team-oriented
Can work long and demanding days
Wants to be part of an active camp community
Has a strong eye for storytelling and capturing genuine moments

A portfolio, reel, or samples of previous work are strongly encouraged.

IMPORTANT: At this point we are primarily hiring American staff or applicants who already possess a valid US working visa.

THE REALITY OF CAMP

Camp is not a vacation.

The hours are long. The work is exhausting. Campers can be difficult. Living with coworkers all summer can sometimes be frustrating.

But by the end of the summer, you will have made incredible friendships, impacted kids' lives, built an amazing body of work, and created memories you will never forget.

1 day off per week
Staff social club with bar access at night
