Our single physician Ophthalmology practice seeks to add an additional Ophthalmic medical assistant. We specialize in comprehensive adult Ophthalmology, including glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration and various other medical conditions of the eye as well as routine eye exams. We also have a full service optical shop that dispenses glasses and contact lenses. Clinical patient care duties include: \\- obtaining patient medical history \\- checking visual acuity including the use of an autorefractor \\- checking eye pressure \\- Ophthalmic testing: visual field testing, OCT, and retinal photography Clerical/front desk duties include: \\- answering phones \\- registration (check-in/check-out) \\- coordination of referrals \\- insurance verification \\- processing/collection of patient payments \\- scheduling appointments \\- reminder phone calls/letters Experience as a medical assistant is required and experience in Ophthalmology or Optometry is preferred. Well developed people skills and commitment to working as a team member are essential.
