About the Arts department Diversity Strategic Plan (DSP) Statement: The Overlake School’s new Diversity Strategic Plan builds on Inclusion and Equity values, where students gain cultural competency and anti-racism skills they will carry as graduates. Overlake seeks an outstanding educator who will contribute to our school community both in and outside of the classroom. Faculty are also expected to collaborate with colleagues to prepare for classes and contribute to the overall development and reflection of courses in the department. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in visual art, photography, arts education or similar; Master’s degree preferred • Minimum two years of relevant classroom teaching experience in middle and/or upper school • Possess relevant technology and computer skills for digital photography • Demonstrated mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught • Ability to maintain a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration, and growth • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Demonstrated cultural competence in teaching and pedagogy
