Multimedia Journalist Intern

Experimental Aircraft Association Oshkosh, Wisconsin

This internship supports the EAA social media and content teams by creating, editing, and publishing multimedia content across EAA’s digital platforms. The role will focus primarily on social media storytelling – developing engaging posts, videos, and visual content that share the spirit of EAA, its members, and the world of aviation.

##### ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create and publish engaging social media content, including posts, captions, photos, short videos, and stories for EAA’s platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok).
2. Capture and edit multimedia content – including photos and videos – that highlight EAA programs, members, and events.
3. Monitor social media trends and analytics to help shape strategy, increase engagement, and grow EAA’s online presence.
4. Work closely with immediate teammates in Social Media as well as colleagues in Publications, Photo/Video, Marketing, Digital, and Design to help ensure the creation and publication of high-quality content across multiple channels/media.
5. Provide recommendations for improving processes through all aspects of content production.
6. Embrace and support the EAA mission and perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
7. All other duties as assigned

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

* Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
* Proven storytelling and writing skills with an engaging, social-friendly tone.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, including best practices for content creation and engagement.
* Strong sense of creativity and curiosity, with the ability to develop fresh ideas and engaging visual narratives.
* A self-starter and go-getter attitude with initiative to pitch story ideas and take projects from concept to completion.
* Basic photography and videography skills, including familiarity with editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Edius, Lightroom, Canva, CapCut).
* Strong attention to detail and editing skills.
* Ability to work cooperatively with a very broad range of stakeholders, including numerous EAA staff, shaping an overall team effort toward a common goal
* Proficient computer skills, including MS Word.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Knowledge of or interest in aviation.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**

Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
