Position Summary A News Photographer works with an experienced team of dedicated, award-winning television journalists. Responsible for shooting and editing news stories for broadcast and operating video backpacks for live shots (TVU). Must have experience with videography and editing, a sharp eye for visual storytelling, and a strong desire to own the big stories. Our news photographers work a variety of hours, including nights and weekends. A college or vocational degree is preferred but not required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and the willingness to work flexible hours. EOE M/F/D/V; background check required.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Shoots video for news/sports reportsConfers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics, and shot requirementsSets up, composes, and executes video shotsMaintains video equipmentEdits video for television broadcasts and digital contentOperates live backpacks (TVU) and live truckPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements & Skills High school diplomaFluency in English and SpanishExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenMinimum two years of experience operating video recording equipmentProficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipmentProficiency with video and audio recording equipmentProficiency with Adobe Premiere ProAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyFlexibility to work any shiftValid driver’s licensePhysical Demands & Work Environment The News Photographer must be able to stand, sit, conduct telephone conversations, use email, write letters and memos, conduct face‑to‑face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. The job requires lifting, setting up, and operating equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and handling repetitive movements.
