Ophthalmic Technician & Registration Associate *NOW HIRING*

Job Description Position: Ophthalmic Technician Reports to: Practice Administrator & Lead Ophthalmic Technician Status: Full time Revised: 11/6/2020 Perlmutter Eye Center is a well-established independent Physician owned Ophthalmology practice committed to excellence here in the Capital Region. Work may involve exposure risk to communicable diseases. The Registration Associate is the first contact point for patients and must be friendly, efficient and reliable. We will treat our patients as we would our families. Job Summary and Responsibilities These tasks include, but are not limited to the following: Greets patients upon check-in/registration and tracks patients in waiting areas Reviews and verifies information in patient charts (electronically and on paper) Enters patient demographics accurately into the computer Verifies insurance information Obtain authorizations or referrals Collect co-pays or past balances Ensures patient satisfaction Provides telephone coverage (answers calls promptly; identifies and expedites emergency calls; takes on/off service; schedules appointments; checks reschedule book) Documentation and scanning Processes referrals from other providers timely Completing confirmation calls Sanitizing front office and waiting areas Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required 1-3 years of similar experience within a medical practice is preferred Excellent communication and customer service skills Must be proficient with Windows- based applications Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401k with employer match PTO and Holiday Pay Environmental/Working Conditions Work is performed in a medical office.
