Ophthalmology technician needed

We are a busy ophthalmology practice in East Lyme looking for a certified ophthalmic technician. Full-time preferred but part-time negotiable. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 with lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00. Requirements: • Ophthalmic technician experience • COA or COT certification • Good communication skills with patients, physicians, and administrative staff • Patience, compassion, empathy • Professionalism • Team player • Reliability Responsibilities: • Patient workup prior to the patient’s seeing the ophthalmologist, including but not limited to: o Taking medical history, visual acuity, lensometry, tonometry, instillation of eyedrops o Refraction o Other tests/imaging, including fundus photography, OCTs, visual fields o Entering such data into EMR as instructed for data maintenance and CMS compliance • Contact lens fittings, as well as inserting or removing contact lenses as needed • Maintaining contact lens orders and in-house sample stock • Clinical room preparation and maintenance • Assist with explaining treatments and procedures to patients • Ensure that education materials are created and available as needed • Work with physicians and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinical flow and environments Competitive hourly wage, paid time off, 401k
