Job Summary: Under direct supervision and order from a physician, optometrist and/or Department Administrator or designee, performs a variety of standard diagnostic tests of the eye, following established procedures and policies as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and visual disorders. Must have knowledge of photographical techniques to perform the following: Photograph the anterior chamber of the eye by means of a slit lamp, including the conjunctiva, cornea, iris, and lens. Must have knowledge of basic functions of a 35-mm camera and its variable settings and capabilities of a Polaroid camera. Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with the public, patients, and other personnel.
