divbJob Summary:/b/div pUnder direct supervision and order from a physician, optometrist and/or Department Administrator or designee, performs a variety of standard diagnostic tests of the eye, following established procedures and policies as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and visual disorders./p divbrbEssential Responsibilities:/b/div ul liThis description is for recruitment posting purposes only. It has not received full HR review and approval./li liChecks visual acuity before administering any test or performing any photography./li liAids physician in explanation of testing procedures, side effects, and follow-up care./li liPerforms visual field testing in one or more of its three standard forms: ul liAutomated central and peripheral fields; Tangent screens; Goldman perimetry./li /ul /li liAscertains lenses prescription as needed prior to testing./li liDocument the findings./li liPerforms keratometry measurements, interferometry, lensometry, and tonometry as needed./li liPerforms accurate ultrasound A-scan measurements and IOL calculations for cataract surgery and lens implantation; performs B-scan diagnostic exam in search of ocular abnormalities or foreign bodies./li liMay have to perform in operating room setting./li liMust have knowledge of photographical techniques to perform the following:/li liFluorescein angiography in proper sequence and in stereo and color fundus photos in stereo./li liIris angiography in proper sequence./li liPhotograph the anterior chamber of the eye by means of a slit lamp, including the conjunctiva, cornea, iris, and lens./li liPhotograph the external anatomy of the eye or facial portions by means of microphotography with a 35-mm camera or Polaroid camera./li liPhotograph conjunctiva and corneal abnormalities by means of a cornea scope camera and/or corneal topography./li liPhotograph during ocular surgery if needed./li liMust have experience with digital photography and transferring data to CDs./li liMust have knowledge of basic functions of a 35-mm camera and its variable settings and capabilities of a Polaroid camera./li liMust have knowledge of most common film types to include black and white, color negative print, color slide, Polaroids black/white, color and sensitivity rating for each./li liMust have knowledge of darkroom techniques to include processing and printing of film by manual method if digital camera not functioning and to perform processing if needed./li liEvaluate the patients condition by observing signs, symptoms, and reactions to testing procedures, and reports to RN and physician any unusual reactions./li liHave basic computer skills./li liMaintains appropriate filing system of all diagnostic photography and testing reports./li liMaintains clean and organized work area, and replaces expendable supplies as needed./li liPerforms any other duties necessary to help in the smooth operation of the department as a whole./li liEstablishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with the public, patients, and other personnel./li liPerforms other duties as required./li liPromotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service./li /ulbr divspanbBasic Qualifications:/b/span/div divspanuExperience/u/span/div ul lispanMinimum two (2) years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting./span/li /ul divspanuEducation/u/span/div ul lispanN/A/span/li /ul divspanuLicense, Certification, Registration/u/span/div ul lispanOphthalmic Technician Certificate from The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology OR Ophthalmic Assistant Certificate from The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology/span/li /ul divspanb/b/span/div divspanbAdditional Requirements:/b/span/div ul lispanN/A/span/li /ul divspanb/b/span/div divspanbPreferred Qualifications:/b/span/div ul lispanJCAPHO certification preferred./span/li /ul p/p pspanstrongNotes:/strong/span/p p class="MsoNormal"spanspan• /spanspanPrimary location in Wildomar Trail. /span/span/p p class="MsoNormal"spanspan• /spanspanMust be willing to travel to all Optometry and Ophthalmology locations. /span/span/p p class="MsoNormal"spanspan• /spanspanMust be available to work on Saturday./span/span/p p/p divbJob Summary:/b/div pUnder direct supervision and order from a physician, optometrist and/or Department Administrator or designee, performs a variety of standard diagnostic tests of the eye, following established procedures and policies as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and visual disorders./p divbrbEssential Responsibilities:/b/div ul liThis description is for recruitment posting purposes only. /span/span/p p class="MsoNormal"spanspan• /spanspanMust be willing to travel to all Optometry and Ophthalmology locations.
