Artist Studio, Midtown, Manhattan Position Level: Experienced (non-manager) Position Type: Part Time, 3 days/week, Permanent, available immediately Internationally renowned artist is looking for a studio assistant. The position will include both administrative and hand-on responsibilities. The applicant should be seeking a long-term commitment. Assistant will report directly to the artist. Candidates should meet the following qualifications: -Strong organizational skills -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop -Knowledge of analogue black and white photography as well as darkroom chemistry and maintenance is a plus Responsibilities: -Handling of large prints for display and shipment -Darkroom assistance and maintenance -Carpentry and construction (domestic scale) -Correspondence with museums, galleries, and fabricators -Photographic documentation and archiving of artwork -Maintain FileMaker archives of artworks -Project research and planning -Travel booking -As needed Support the artist with personal needs Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree (ideally in art or related field) Application Instructions: Please send a resume, cover letter, and three reference contacts in a single via email
