Position SummaryThe Photo program at Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria, is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for potential vacancies during the 2024-2025 academic years. Positions are available as needed during the Fall and/or Spring semesters.Responsibilities may include teaching courses such as History of Photography, Basic Photography, Materials and Processes, Color Photography, Commercial Photography, Portrait Photography, and Digital Photography. Successful candidates should demonstrate sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage a diverse classroom environment, providing effective instruction to students from varied backgrounds including different academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.Essential Functions and QualificationsPerformance ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction according to established curriculum and course outlines.Maintain professional conduct and ethics.Keep current with developments in the subject area.Fulfill responsibilities typical of part-time/temporary faculty.Teach scheduled classes, which may include day, evening, weekend, online, or off-campus sessions.Maintain accurate records.Minimum QualificationsThe successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND two years of industry experience.Associates Degree AND six years of industry experience.Equivalent combination of education and experience.
