Erin Roberts Design is a Brooklyn - based, bicoastal interior design studio with a signature aesthetic inspired by Japanese minimalism, Scandinavian vintage, and the California coast. Specializing in remote interior design and styling, they service residential and commercial projects in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Brooklyn and beyond. JOB OVERVIEW We’re building our team and hiring an Interior Design Assistant based in Brooklyn and / or San Francisco to support Erin Roberts in all aspects of the interior and product design business. Overview of position: —Freelance Independent Contractor —Part - time / project - based, up to 15 hours per week —Pay depending on experience —Remote and in-person work —1 month trial period to start IDEAL CANDIDATE / WHO SHOULD APPLY This is for you if: —You are passionate about interior design, architecture, photography and ceramics —You are excited about learning all aspects of the design process and building a brand with a small likeminded team of creatives —You are detail oriented and methodical about getting things done well, carefully, on time, and are dedicated and passionate about your work —You are friendly, patient, calm under pressure, and able to respond quickly to emails when working remotely within 1-2 days —You take organized, detailed notes, like researching solutions for creative problem solving, are able to do work independently and like to brainstorm ideas —You are available to work up to 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule —You are able to replicate workflows and different design styles with detail and accuracy ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Interior Design & Styling —Assist Principal designer in photographing spaces, measuring, pinterest inspiration, sketchup model building, space planning, digital design boards, furniture selection, shopping local furniture showrooms, upstate vintage shopping, shop drawings for custom items, finish selection and sample pickups, budget spreadsheets, renovation research, quotes for custom work, coordinating with contractors, ordering furniture, tracking shipments, installation on site, styling projects on site, renovation project management, photographing spaces upon completion, editing project photography for publishing (depending on experience) Product Design —Assist Principal designer in designing furniture and ceramics for namesake collection, product photography and editing, uploading products to online store, product descriptions and pricing, packing and shipping out orders, researching stockists, creating lookbooks, pitching products to magazines and stores, seasonal pop up shops, setting up booths, hosting events, unloading events and packing up Marketing & Branding —Assist Principal designer in submitting project photography for publishing, researching magazines and product showroom stockists, submitting applications for pop up events, writing copy for newsletters, creating lookbooks, running online sales on instagram, filling social media calendar via Planoly, apply for design article features (maker moments, get the look, artist highlights, gift guides) SKILLS / SOFTWARE REQUIRED Sketchup Pro InDesign Photoshop iPhone Photography Adobe Acrobat Google Drive Dropbox Planoly Instagram Pinterest Bonus skills: CAD Project Management Renovation Experience Retail Management Product Design Shopify Photography Nikon DSLR Lightroom Editing Squarespace Studio Designer Copywriting Blogging Newsletters Ceramics Production Pop up Events THE APPLICATION PROCESS Please fill out the application at the following link to apply: https://forms.gle/bY9ZdTR2XUr6mcGU9 Once you’ve filled out the application, if you move on to the next step you’ll be notified within 7 days to schedule a virtual zoom meeting with Erin Roberts.
