Part-Time Photography and Videography Instructor for Middle and High School Students

Tumaini DC is seeking a dynamic, creative, and purpose-driven Photography & Videography Teaching Artist to join our TAAP (Tumaini Accelerated Apprenticeship Program). This role begins in the summer and has the opportunity to extend into school-year programming, offering consistent impact with youth across multiple settings. Has experience in photography and/or videography (portfolio required) Is passionate about youth development, mentorship, and education Can teach through a social-emotional and healing-centered lens Understands the power of storytelling as a tool for identity and expression Is able to build authentic relationships with youth Has a flexible schedule to accommodate ongoing programming Role Responsibilities Facilitate hands-on photography and videography sessions for middle and high school students Teach core skills including: Composition Lighting Editing Visual storytelling Integrate SEL, wellness, and reflection into each session Guide students in creating projects that reflect their voice, identity, and lived experiences Foster a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment Provide individualized feedback and mentorship to support student growth
