What You Will Do • Reporting to the Elections News Editor, you will research, secure and prepare for publication rights-cleared photos of candidates to national and selected statewide office. • The ability to work in the U.S. or the ability to gain permission to do so. • Advanced-level professional competency in photography and/or photo editing. • Strong news judgment, as AP photo assistants are expected to be as familiar with the top news stories of the day and basic elements of what makes for a good photograph. This position is covered by The Associated Press’ contract with the News Media Guild, which provides for a minimum annual salary for Class B staff of between $40,108.12 and $66,114.88, based on location and years of professional experience.
