Photo Assistant

I'm currently working on a series of portraits of autistic adults and a series on stories of pregnancy, infertility, and birth. These shoots feature people who have been through a lot in their lives, and the shoots are intended as a ritual of witness and healing. I want an assistant who stays connected and supports the depth of the experience for the model-collaborators. There are also many logistical and creative details to attend to, and I love to work with assistants who are self-motivated and look for opportunities to help and support both the technical aspects of the shoot as well as the interpersonal dynamics. It's also a big plus if you have a strong visual eye and are a perfectionist -- someone who will notice and correct the one hair that's out of place or the one wrinkle in the backdrop.
