Pro Shots Photography is seeking dependable, energetic Photo Assistants to join our youth sports picture-day team.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with children, communicates confidently, and can help keep athletes organized and moving efficiently through the photography process.

Photo Assistants work closely with our photographers, check-in staff, coaches, and league representatives. No professional photography experience is required. Training is provided on our posing, equipment, safety, and picture-day workflow.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist photographers with posing individual athletes, buddy groups, coaches, and teams
Help organize athletes and prepare them for their photographs
Provide clear, friendly direction to children of different ages
Help keep the photography line moving efficiently and on schedule
Check uniforms, equipment, hair, posture, and other details before photographs are taken
Help ensure athletes are facing the correct direction and following the photographer’s instructions
Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, coaches, and league staff
Assist with loading, unloading, setting up, and breaking down photography equipment
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe photography area
Follow established Pro Shots Photography procedures and instructions
Arrive on time and remain available for the full scheduled event
Represent Pro Shots Photography in a friendly and professional manner

Qualifications

Experience working with children, youth sports, schools, camps, events, or customer service is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable giving clear instructions to individuals and groups
Friendly, patient, confident, and professional
Dependable and able to follow directions
Detail-oriented and able to notice uniform, posing, and appearance issues
Able to stay organized in a busy, fast-paced environment
Able to work independently while contributing to a team
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to event locations throughout the Central Valley
Professional appearance and demeanor

Photography experience is helpful but not required.

Schedule and Availability

This is a part-time, seasonal, event-based position. Work is primarily available during the spring and fall youth sports seasons.

Schedules vary depending on league and school photography dates. Most assignments take place during:

Saturdays and Sundays
Weekday afternoons and evenings
Occasional weekday school hours
Early morning start times for larger picture days

A typical weekend event may run approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while weekday events may run approximately 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Actual hours vary by assignment.

This is not a guaranteed-hours position. Team members are scheduled based on event needs, availability, performance, and seasonal workload. Applicants should have regular weekend availability during the spring and fall seasons.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and move frequently throughout an event
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions
Ability to assist with loading, unloading, setting up, and breaking down equipment

Location

This is an on-location position. Photo shoots are held at schools, parks, sports complexes, gyms, and other locations throughout Fresno and the Central Valley.

Reliable transportation is required.
