The Photo Retoucher is a creative and executional resource within New Era’s internal Creative Services team. This role is responsible for retouching and producing a high volume of brand and product-focused imagery while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and the highest visual quality. A successful candidate has a strong background in photo editing and retouching, thrives in a fast- paced and deadline-driven work environment, and consistently delivers high- quality final image assets to maintain New Era’s brand standard and meet project deadlines. Responsibilities Work within the Creative Services team to execute brand retouching direction across digital image files to produce high- quality assets and meet deadlines Complete full-scale retouching including but not limited to: compositing; color correction/grading, lighting adjustments, creating masks, paths, layers, and actions; creating shadows; cloning; and cropping for a wide range of imagery Scale and size images for intended resolution and use Composite imagery to seamlessly replace products within existing photography Edit imagery and create final assets for use within various brand, product, and marketing campaign needs across a range of platforms including ecommerce, social media, digital and print retail displays Audit current processes for repetitive/routine tasks and create efficiencies or scripts where applicable to decrease turnaround times Maintain digital asset organization, including file naming conventions and multiple size outputs as established by the Creative Services team Must be a team player who is open to constructive feedback Individually manage multiple projects daily while meeting established deadlines Follow a workflow consistent with best practices and timeliness defined by the Creative Services team Other duties as assigned Keeps all sensitive matters confidential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, and Camera Raw as well as Capture One Proficiency with masks and paths, color profiles and color correction, actions, layers, and cropping Strong eye for color and color matching Experience in high-volume retouching and post-production processes Must be comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Must be able to work efficiently with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, adapting and responding quickly to shifting needs and priorities Strong communication skills and ability to comprehend detailed instructions Ability to accurately and reliably forecast timelines for tasks and projects Ability to think critically, problem solve, and recommend viable retouching- focused solutions Must be able to build upon knowledge with each project to limit rounds of retouching reviews Must be highly organized and able to adhere to pre-defined conventions, processes, and workflows Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment Must be able to handle and keep confidential all sensitive/unreleased materials Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Appreciation or interest in sports/lifestyle apparel is a plus Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in design, photography, or equivalent relevant work experience Minimum 3-5 years of professional photo editing and retouching experience (studio, agency, in-house, and/or freelance) Portfolio demonstrating retouching capabilities required Travel Requirement Negligible (0 – 5%) New Era Cap Co., Inc. is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer that believes in inclusion and does not discriminate against any candidate or employee on the basis of race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetics, or any other basis protected by applicable local, state or federal laws.
