Photo / Video Assistant - Part Time

Role Description The Photo / Video Assistant is a contract, on-site role based in Boston, MA but with travel through New England for weddings or events. This role supports lead photographers and videographers during wedding events and related shoots by setting up equipment, holding lights, moving and retrieving cases, camera equipment, and related items. While also preparing gear, managing memory cards and batteries, organizing shot lists, and maintaining a smooth workflow on set. The assistant may help with basic lighting adjustments, minor equipment troubleshooting, and communication with clients and venue staff to ensure efficient coordination throughout the event. Occasionally an assistant may take some photos or manage video camera recordings at an entry level and under direction.

This is an entry level contract position, on an as needed basis for weekend events. This job is best suited for someone seeking an internship or entry level position with wedding photography or videography, or looking for some part time work in the events industry.

Typical events last 6-10 hours on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The photo/video assistant is currently needed one or two times a month, with potential for more hours and/or responsibilities in the future. As an example of hours and salary, currently you might expect to work 15-20 hours a month with this part time position.

$25 Hour

Qualifications

Available on weekends.Ability to stand on your feet for a full days event with minimal breaks.Transportation to drive to the event and between locations.Responsible with accepting jobs and honoring contract commitments for work.Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, clients, and venue staff.Ability to work on-site in fast-paced wedding environments, including evenings and weekends.Attention to detail, reliability, and a professional, client-focused demeanor.Comfort with handling and transporting photo and video equipment safely.Prior experience assisting on photo or video shoots, especially weddings or events, is a plus.Positive attitude and demeanor.
