Photographer/Videographer

The purpose of this job is to perform and primarily contribute photographic services with a secondary duty to support videographer, editing, and graphic design projects as required for various City Council functions. Major Duties And Responsibilities • Produce compelling photos in support of the initiatives and is responsible for the management, maintenance, editing, and facilitation of the use of images • Responsible for the capture, catalog, and maintenance of an archive of current and past photographs Proactively identifies opportunities to build relationships and establish dialogue with the community and media • Coordinate with internal divisions within the City of Atlanta to remain abreast of new developments (ex: community functions, and local events directly impacting ATL) • Identifies images and videos to help enhance social media platforms • Collaborate with the communications staff to capture necessary photographs and videos to incorporate into promotional materials and reports. The position is responsible for working with and directing talent as required for the project • Bachelor’s degree in photography, videography or photo- content journalism preferred, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training, • Minimum 3-5 years of photojournalism, visual content creation, or digital photo experience The COA is prepared to modify or adjust the job application process or the job or work environment to make reasonable accommodations to the known physical or mental limitations of the applicant or employee to enable the applicant or employee to be considered for the position he or she desires, to perform the essential functions of the position in question, or to enjoy equal benefits and privileges of employment as are enjoyed by other similarly situated employees without disabilities, unless the accommodation will impose an undue hardship.
