Job Description
Full-Time Sales Consultant | Portrait Studio | Base Salary + Commission
We’re looking for someone who enjoys sales, builds trust quickly, and confidently asks for the purchase. You’ll turn inquiries into booked sessions and lead ordering appointments where clients choose their portraits and products. Creating an exceptional client experience and meeting sales goals are both essential to this role.
Your primary focus will be converting leads into booked sessions and closing portrait and product sales during in-person ordering appointments.
If that excites you, keep reading.
Job Location
Fargo, ND
You’ll know this job is for you if:
You genuinely enjoy working with people and selling products and services you believe in
You confidently make recommendations, address concerns, and ask for the sale while respecting the client’s decisions
You balance warmth with authority
You thrive in fast-paced environments
You’re organized and naturally follow through on details
You take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
You’re motivated by sales goals, measurable results, and the opportunity to earn commission
You communicate professionally and confidently
You want to grow with a company long-term, not just work a temporary job
If you’re looking for a low-responsibility role where you can simply clock in and out, this probably won’t feel like the right fit.
What this role actually looks like:
As our Full-Time Sales Consultant, you’ll be responsible for booking sessions, selling portraits and products, and delivering an exceptional client experience. Your performance will be measured through lead conversion, average sale, completed ordering appointments, and consistent follow-up.
This is an in-person role working directly with clients. Professionalism, reliability, confidence, organization, strong communication skills, and emotional intelligence are non-negotiable.
Minimum of 40 hours per week
Must be available weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Your primary responsibilities will focus on:
Converting new inquiries into booked sessions through phone consultations
Following up consistently with leads and asking for the booking
Leading in-person ordering appointments and asking for the purchase
Helping clients narrow their image selections and recommending products that fit their needs
Presenting pricing confidently and responding to questions and objections
Recognizing opportunities to recommend additional images, albums, and wall art
Working toward established booking and sales goals
Documenting client details, commitments, and follow-up needs
Creating a polished, organized client experience from first contact through the completed order
Because we are a small team, there will also be times where you’ll step in and support in other areas of the business as needed.
No two days look exactly the same.
Now the good stuff:
You’ll work with a supportive, driven team that genuinely enjoys being here
The work is meaningful, creative, and rewarding
You’ll see the direct results of your work every single week
There is real room to grow as the business grows
Leadership opportunities may grow with the role over time
You’ll be trusted to take ownership instead of being micromanaged
No two clients, sessions, or stories are ever the same
We’re looking for someone who wants this to feel like their work home, not just another job.
This role is perfect for someone who:
Is confident without being arrogant
Is warm without being passive
Communicates professionally and naturally
Is comfortable discussing pricing, addressing hesitation, and directly asking clients to book or purchase
Handles pressure well
Takes initiative
Learns quickly
Brings positive energy into a room
We’ll train you on our products, systems, workflows, and sales process. We cannot teach energy, ownership, confidence, work ethic, or positive attitude toward selling.
