Job SummaryThe Stuckert Career Center is seeking a Photography and Videography Intern for the academic year of 2026-2027. The intern will have the opportunity to learn skills in marketing, digital design, communications, and customer and patron relationship management, while gaining an understanding of student career development at the University of Kentucky. The intern will work from August 14, 2026 to May 05, 2027 and will work 10-15 hours a week with possible night and weekend events. The internship is overseen and guided by the Assistant Director for Experiential Education and all activities are informed by principles and practices of exemplary customer service and hospitality.
The Photography and Videography Intern will serve as the main photographer or videographer.
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Intern to generate, manage, edit, and lay out content for marketing needs (e.g., newsletters, profile pieces, press releases, brochures, flyers, social media using Canva).
Develop photography and videography activities to enhance marketing needs.
Represent the Stuckert Career Center at career-related events, engaging with current students, potential students, alumni, and employers.
Organize and take inventory of materials.
Perform desk operations: first point of contact for students, staff, and guests; check-ins; answer phones; process emails; route questions; provide resources; run errands; filing and general office tasks; assist staff with projects.
Other duties may be assigned to support the Stuckert Career Center’s overall success.
Through this internship, the intern will develop job skills and learn new ones. The intern should be open to feedback and guidance. On-the-job training and hands-on experience will occur in a professional, supportive environment.
Required August all student staff training (Sunday before First Day of Class).
Required January all student staff training (Sunday before First Day of Class).
Bi-weekly all student staff meetings.
Weekly one-on-one supervisor meetings.

College credit may be obtained by reviewing the experience with your academic advisor. This position is open for Federal Work-Study eligible students.

Knowledge of marketing on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok platforms.
Experience with Acrobat, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with iMovie, CapCut, Canva, and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Acrobat.
Experience with Canon cameras.
Experience with social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Sprout Social).
Experience with photography and videography editing using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
Sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, and flexibility with different personalities and working styles.
Attention to detail, strong multitasking and time management skills.
Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Positive energy and willingness to pitch in and be a team player.
Ability to think quickly, be flexible, creative, forward-thinking, and adaptable.
