Empowering Portraits is a boutique portrait photography studio dedicated to celebrating and empowering women through beautiful, intentional imagery. We specialize in women’s portraits, personal branding, boudoir, and empowering portrait experiences for women 40+ — creating meaningful photography experiences that help women see themselves with confidence and pride.

We are seeking a part-time Portrait Studio & Marketing Assistant to support studio operations, assist during sessions, and help create behind-the-scenes content.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has an eye for detail, and is excited to be part of a creative, client-centered environment.

Please note: This is not a photographer position. No professional photography experience is required.

RESPONSABILITIES

This role includes both studio support and light marketing assistance, such as:

Preparing the studio before/after sessions
Assisting during portrait sessions, including light set adjustments and moving studio items and furniture
Organizing studio wardrobe and client styling pieces
Capturing behind-the-scenes photos and videos on a phone
Transferring media to our database
Basic editing of short-form video using mobile apps
Assisting with email follow-ups and general studio organization
Supporting the photographer throughout sessions as needed

SCHEDULE

10–15 hours per week to start
Schedule coordinated in advance based on session bookings
Some weeks may be lighter or busier
Occasional on-location sessions
Sessions typically take place 1–3 times per week
Sessions are Monday to Friday; 9 AM - 2 PM

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who is:

Warm, friendly, and professional
Organized and detail-oriented
Excellent customer service
Comfortable working closely with clients and helping them feel at ease
Interested in photography, social media, or creative work
Comfortable capturing short videos and photos on a phone
Familiar with Canva or mobile photo/video editing apps (a plus)

Our studio primarily photographs women on personal and professional journeys, including boudoir sessions that require a high level of client comfort and privacy.

Our studio includes boudoir and intimate portrait sessions centered around women’s comfort and trust. For this reason, this role is open to female candidates.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys supporting others, is highly organized, and takes pride in creating a thoughtful and seamless client experience.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who resonates with our mission to celebrate and empower women, especially women over 40.

Based at our portrait studio in St. Louis
Some sessions may take place on location

Compensation: $20 per hour
