Product Photographer

Job Summary

Jerry's Artarama is seeking an experienced commercial photographer to join our in-house photography studio. This is a hands-on role for a photographer who is comfortable taking responsibility for the technical and creative execution of professional product and still-life photography while working within the priorities and creative direction established by our Studio Manager and marketing team.

Our photographer works primarily in a dedicated, fully equipped professional studio and also handles occasional location assignments. The ideal candidate understands how to make products look their best, can solve lighting and technical challenges independently, and can consistently deliver accurate, polished images on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Create high-quality commercial still photography of art materials, products, packaging, artwork, and related subjects for e-commerce, advertising, catalogs, social media, and other marketing uses.
Handle occasional location photography in addition to regular studio work.
Use professional cameras, lenses, studio strobes, light modifiers, reflectors, tripods, backgrounds, and related equipment with a strong command of lighting, composition, exposure, perspective, and color.
Photograph challenging surfaces and products, including reflective, glossy, textured, dimensional, and color-sensitive subjects.
Work from project direction supplied by the Studio Manager and marketing team, meeting established priorities and deadlines and making requested revisions or additional images.
Coordinate effectively with the studio assistant and marketing staff to keep projects moving efficiently.
Maintain an organized professional studio, care for equipment, and support an efficient digital file and image workflow.
Manage multiple assignments with limited day-to-day technical supervision while remaining responsive to creative direction and final approval.

Qualifications

Professional experience in commercial, product, still-life, or studio photography.
Strong working knowledge of professional digital camera systems, lenses, studio strobes, light shaping, reflectors, and studio support equipment.
Demonstrated ability to control color, exposure, perspective, reflections, texture, and detail in product photography.
Strong independent technical judgment, organization, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to collaborate professionally with a Studio Manager, assistant, marketing team, designers, and internal clients.
Portfolio demonstrating relevant commercial or product photography is required.
Post-production, retouching, color-management, Photoshop, and Lightroom skills are strongly preferred.

The Studio

Jerry's Artarama provides a dedicated professional photography studio with cameras and lenses, studio strobes, modifiers, reflectors, tripods, backgrounds, supports, and other equipment required for commercial product photography.

This is an in-house, full-time position intended for a photographer who enjoys both the craft of photography and the discipline of producing consistent commercial work for a busy marketing organization.
