School Marketing Photographer

Title: Marketing Photographer Who We Are Primary Responsibilities • Plans, captures, edits, and catalogs photography depicting authentic and inspiring representations of the School and College campuses for marketing, communications, public relations, and advancement needs • Collaborates with Visual Media Director and the rest of creative team to meet organizational needs and goals • Assists in the management of student photographers, as needed • Builds and maintains relationships with representatives of various departments to facilitate photography planning and execution • Manages Principia’s library of photos using digital asset management tools • Travels between the School and College campuses as needed; after-hours and weekend work required and frequent • Keeps up to date on current trends, techniques, and skills in the field Minimum Qualifications • Student of Christian Science; if not, then values-aligned • Supportive of Principia’s mission, vision, and values as articulated here https://www.principia.edu/about/mission • Bachelor’s degree in photography, art, or related field/ OR comparable professional experience of 5+ years • Demonstrated exceptional skill in capturing and editing still photographic images in both candid and staged settings; portfolio required • Wealth of experience in planning, coordinating and conducting staged shooting sessions in both natural and artificial lighting scenarios • Deep experience capturing powerful candid portraits, action shots, and event-based images • Expert proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Lightroom, Photoshop (with excellent retouching skills), and Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut on a Mac platform • Exceptional organizational ability: prioritizing and executing many projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment; proven ability to create, navigate, and adjust complex organizational systems for managing digital assets • Advanced experience with staging equipment (strobe lighting, reflectors, backdrops, etc.) The statements above describe the general nature and level of work but are not a complete list of responsibilities and are subject to change at the discretion of Principia.
