School Portrait Photographer (Seasonal – Fall 2026)

MugsyClicks is a family-owned and operated school portrait company located in San Rafael. We provide school portraiture to over 150 schools in SF, East Bay, Marin, and Sonoma. We are celebrated for our modern approach, utilizing the vibrant outdoor Bay Area landscapes and natural light in our creative work.

We are looking to grow our team of gifted creatives. Specifically, we seek established, experienced photographers specializing in child portraiture, families, weddings, and event photography. If you excel in a fast-paced environment and have mastered the art of coaxing smiles, we are very interested in meeting you!

What You’ll Do:

Photograph students outdoors using natural light
Create authentic, expressive portraits in a fast‑moving environment
Travel to a new school location each day
Work closely with a supportive team of photographers and assistants
Represent MugsyClicks with professionalism and warmth

Schedule & Pay:

Seasonal dates: August – November
Hours: Monday–Friday, approx. 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Minimum availability: 3 days/week during the busy season
Compensation: $50/hr for qualified photographers
Assignment value: Typically $150–$400 per job
Additional opportunities available throughout the year

What You’ll Need:

Reliable transportation to travel to school locations
Professional experience photographing children, families, weddings, or events
Strong natural‑light photography skills (studio lighting a plus)
Professional references demonstrating reliability and quality
Required gear: DSLR or mirrorless camera (Canon Mark III/IV, R5 series, or equivalent), 24–70mm lens, 70–200mm f/2.8–f/4 lens
