POSITION DESCRIPTION: The contract Multimedia Journalist will pursue stories of broad reaching legislation, and its effects on Siler City. NC. Report on Chatham County lawmakers, etc. While strong writing is a must, this position will offer the flexibility for creativity in storytelling. REQUIREMENTS Skills: • Ability to write and edit news copy • Ability to lift and operate camera equipment - as some limited photography will be required • Ability to create news contacts and sources • Ability to work independently in a positive environment Experience: • Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools • Strong writing and copy-editing skills are a must • Experience as a reporter is a plus • Must be able to work well under deadline pressure • College degree or major in Journalism is preferred • Previous newsroom experience is a plus • Must have and maintain a valid license
