Seasonal Sports Photographer

At Dorian Studio, you will create smiles, capture moments through photography, and collaborate with a diverse and talented team. Our family-oriented atmosphere has helped us become one of the fastest-growing school and sports photography companies in the West.

We are looking for experienced photographers for after-school sports and Saturdays. This position offers a flexible schedule, making it ideal for college students or anyone seeking gig work.

Shifts vary from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, two to four days per week, and some Saturdays from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

We seek friendly, caring, responsible, and creative individuals to join our team. As a sports photographer, you should be personable, creative, and able to interact positively with both school-age children and adults. You must be capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. Photographic experience along with a porforlio is required.

Position Summary

As a sports photographer, the responsibilities include capturing high-quality individual and group photographs of athletes, teams, coaches, admins, and events in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner. This position involves setting up and operating photographic equipment, interacting positively with children and team personnel, and ensuring accurate image documentation and customer satisfaction. Sports photographers work in a fast-paced environment and travel to multiple locations while maintaining company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

Delivering excellent customer service to coaches, parents, and students.
Transporting and setting up computer and camera equipment on-site at both outdoor and indoor sports events.
Taking high-quality individual and team portraits.
Maintaining professionalism and representing Dorian with pride
Collaborating with the larger Dorian team through training, communication, and support—even while working solo on-site
Completing end-of-day paperwork with careful attention to detail.
Communicating effectively and promptly with all team members.
Ensuring a fun atmosphere and creating smiles.
Any duties deemed necessary by management

Qualifications

Specific qualifications for the sports photographer position include:

A minimum of 1 year of experience in photography.
High school diploma or equivalent
Friendly, outgoing, and people-oriented with a team mindset
Attention to detail is crucial, along with the ability to multitask effectively.
Reliable, insured personal transportation, a valid driver's license, and must meet company driving record requirements
Consistent access to a cell phone and the internet
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check in accordance with company policy
Punctual, responsible, and self-motivated

Physical Requirement

Must be able to stand and be active and moving continuously for extended periods
Frequently walk between gyms, auditoriums, and outdoor locations.
Ability to lift, carry, and set up photography equipment weighing 25-50 pounds, including cameras, lighting, backgrounds, and stands
Sensory & Cognitive: depth perception, hearing, speaking, and the ability to focus on repetitive tasks are required
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and climbing ladders to position equipment and subjects
Able to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
Work through weather conditions for outdoor photography
Repetitive use of hands and fingers for camera operations, computer input, and equipment adjustment

This position will be photographing after school sports for high schools and middle schools. Photography experience is required. Applicants must submit a portfolio.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
