Overview
We are seeking a seasonal, contract-based Videographer/Photographer to capture the Summer Springboard experience at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee. Summer Springboard provides high school and middle school students with a 1-week or 2-week educational, campus-based program to explore their passions and prepare for college life. These sessions give students a chance to explore a potential major, live on campus and get a taste of college life.
Your role is to capture the hands-on learning, the iconic university campuses, and the genuine excitement of students exploring new cities and campuses. We need high-quality 4K b-roll, professional stills, and engaging video interviews to be used across our 2026/2027 marketing and social media campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
The Experience: Capture candid and "plandid" moments of students smiling, interacting with peers, and engaging with their surroundings. Focus on storytelling from the student's perspective.
Interactive Learning: Document hands-on activities, the connection between students and instructors in academic tracks (e.g., medical simulations, engineering builds), and academic excursions off campus.
Campus & City Life: Highlight identifying architecture of our partner universities and iconic excursions within the host city, ensuring Summer Springboard branding (shirts, backpacks, stickers) is visible.
Vertical Video: Capture (or edit from 16x9 footage) a library of 1080p vertical clips for Instagram Reels and TikTok, including short "day-in-the-life" or "excursion recap" content.
Interviews: Conduct energetic, high-quality interviews with students, staff, instructors, and parents using provided prompts and questions.
Technical Requirements
Equipment: Must provide your own professional kit.
Minimum Requirements:
4K-capable camera
External audio equipment, such as a lav or shotgun mic
Preferred Additional Equipment:
Secondary camera for stills
Lighting equipment for interviews
Photo Specs: Shoot in RAW; deliver 100-300 edited JPEGs per shooting day. (Will vary with location & hours)
Video Specs: 4K video (S-Log preferred) with 60fps or 30fps.
Audio: Clean, mic-recorded audio is mandatory for all interviews.
Delivery: Organised digital delivery or hard drive (reimbursed) within 30 days of program completion.
Qualifications
Experience in event, lifestyle, or educational photography/videography.
Ability to work well with teenagers and staff, often in fast-paced outdoor or classroom settings.
Must successfully pass a background check
Highly organized with file management and able to follow specific naming conventions.
Reliable transportation to and from the campus location.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
