POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Videographer and Video Editor leads the hands-on development and production of video content for Mid-States and its private-brand portfolio. This position takes projects from concept through final delivery, including buyer videos, private-brand lifestyle shoots, product demonstrations, social-first content, interviews, internal communications and trade show content.

This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring strong creative judgment, technical production expertise and dependable execution. The position plans and runs studio and location shoots, directs talent and employees, edits content for multiple platforms, manages production assets and builds repeatable processes. The role may manage production companies, freelancers and other external partners but does not supervise internal staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Video Strategy, Planning and Pre-Production

Develop video concepts, creative treatments, scripts, interview questions, storyboards and shot lists in partnership with Brand Managers, Social Media, Creative Services and other stakeholders.
Translate brand strategies, product information and campaign objectives into video ideas designed for buyer presentations, private-brand marketing, social media, websites, training and trade shows.
Plan production calendars, schedules, locations, talent needs, releases and other shoot requirements while coordinating dependencies with internal teams and external partners.
Identify production risks, timing conflicts and resource needs early and recommend practical solutions before filming begins.

Studio and Location Production

Operate professional cameras, lenses, lighting, grip, audio and support equipment for studio and on-location productions.
Apply strong composition, framing, exposure, focus, camera movement and sound-recording practices across changing production environments.
Direct models, employees, customers, subject-matter experts and other on-camera participants to produce natural, credible performances.
Set up and operate teleprompters for scripted presentations and conduct interviews in the Fort Worth office and on location.
Produce product tabletop video, macro product shots, studio demonstrations, interviews, lifestyle footage and field-based brand content.
Operate drones for commercial video production in accordance with applicable regulations and safety requirements.

Editing and Post-Production

Edit professional video using Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable professional editing platform.
Perform color correction, color grading, audio editing, audio mixing, synchronization, stabilization, cleanup and final mastering.
Select and organize footage, music, interviews, product shots, graphics and other assets into clear stories with appropriate pacing.
Create captions, titles, lower thirds, basic motion elements and platform-ready exports that meet brand and accessibility standards.
Adapt each shoot into multiple versions, aspect ratios, durations and formats for social media, websites, buyer presentations, paid media and trade shows.

AI-Assisted Video Production

Use AI tools and agent-based workflows to improve production speed, organization and output quality without reducing creative or technical standards.
Apply AI where useful for concept development, scripting, storyboards, transcripts, interview selects, rough-cut organization, captions, cleanup, masking, audio repair, versioning and content repurposing.
Review all AI-assisted output for brand accuracy, visual quality, product accuracy, copyright, talent rights, confidentiality and appropriate disclosure.
Recognize when an AI-assisted result is not good enough and use professional production or editing methods instead.

Trade Show and Event Content

Develop videos in advance of Mid-States trade shows for presentations, product launches, screens, buyer communications and other event needs.
Travel to select trade shows and brand productions to capture show-floor footage, interviews, product demonstrations, Member activity and event highlights.
Produce timely event recaps, interview edits, social clips and other content that extends the value of each show.

Equipment, Assets and Production Operations

Maintain a working knowledge of Mid-States camera, lens, lighting, audio, grip, teleprompter, drone and editing equipment.
Recommend equipment, software and workflow improvements based on production needs, responsible use of budget and expected business value.
Organize raw footage, project files, releases, music licenses, working files and final deliverables in MediaValet and other approved systems.
Create repeatable production processes, folder structures, file-naming standards, backup practices, templates and archival procedures.
Manage production companies, freelancers and other external partners when additional capacity or specialized expertise is needed.

Collaboration and Project Execution

Partner with the Vice President of Marketing, Brand Managers, Social Media Manager, Creative Services, Web Marketing and category teams to define project goals and priorities.
Develop a clear understanding of each private brand, its audience, product categories, campaign objectives and visual standards.
Communicate schedules, dependencies, risks and delivery dates clearly and manage assigned work through approved project-management workflows.
Balance creative quality with business needs, deadlines, platform requirements and available resources.
