Studio Stage Intern / Apprentice

The Garage TV is looking for a passionate studio Intern / apprentice Necessary skills, abilities, and Passions: Must be living in the NYC area and can commute to our studio in Industry City Brooklyn Passionate about learning technical filmmaking gear and processes Passionate about learning about camera robotics or motion control Passionate about in-camera practical effects Love to build things, or learn how to build things Love the idea of using a Phantom camera often Not afraid to get your hands dirty, this is very much a hands-on position, not a sitting at a desk all day type position Dedicated and hard working Can follow the scientific method Love the work we create at The Garage and want to be part of it Genuinely friendly and nice Heavy lifting capable Like working as part of a team Love troubleshooting and problem solving Good with technology in general Passionate about electronics Want to make the world a better place Thoughtful and have a mind for innovation and improvement of processes Very organized and a good communicator Excited about brands and advertising Not adverse to using a mop and broom This is Part time, you much be available 2-3 days per week or 20-25 hours a week, every week Willing to make a 6 month commitment Must be vaccinated and boosted (if eligible) Must have legal status to work in the US Super Bonus skills : Knowledge of electronic circuits and power supplies Knowledge of woodworking, metal milling, welding, and or 3D printing Knowledge of fusion 360, maya, solid works Knowledge in video editing, color grading, sound design Knowledge of motion control robotics Knowledge of high end still photography systems Knowledge of photoshop and capture one pro Knowledge of Optics Passion for food Passion for shooting liquids and guild dynamics Knowledge of IT / Networking systems Understanding of the Advertising Industry and brands And please share your other passions with us! This position is a paid apprenticeship / internship that eventually can become a full time position for the right hard-working passionate individual. This is a minimum wage ($15 / hr) part time hourly position. There is room for advancement in pay over time. Also, if your schedule allows, we would consider hiring you as a PA on jobs at normal PA rates.
