**The Position**

The primary goal of the position is to teach visual art to students, grades 9-12

**QUALIFICATIONS**

1. New Jersey Teacher of Art Certificate required.
2. Mastery of technical skills related to operating film and digital cameras.
3. Experience teaching AP Art History and other high-level art honors courses.
4. Experience working in Black and White Darkrooms. 
5. Experience working with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
6. Experience printing with pigment inkjet printers and color profiles.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status

**Starting Salary Range:**
• Bachelor's Degree: $70,000 - 100,315

• Master's Degree: $77,450 - $109,865

• Master's + 30 Credits: $81,565 - $115,450

• Doctorate: $84,565 - $118,450

1. New Jersey Instructional Certificate or eligibility.
2. Teaching experience preferred, but not required.
3. Demonstrated knowledge in subject area.
4. Familiarity with use of technology as instructional tool.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Required criminal history background check
7. Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

**REPORTS TO**     Principal
**JOB GOAL(S)**
To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

 Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

 Engages in professional development activities, which enhances instructional practices.**10.**
 Participates in appropriate building and district meetings.**11.**
 Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.**12.**Uses technology for communication purposes.**13.**Performs other related duties as assigned.

**WORKING RELATIONSHIPS OF THE POSITION:** To maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, parents, administrators and appropriate community groups.


**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:** 10 Months
